this is an old broadcasting engineering trick that sometimes works only if the DVD/CD isnt stuck. hold the eject button down, then turn your car onto acc or to the point were the stereo system turns on. keep holding it and see if it pops out or not.
You dont have to start the car.

Can you clarify, what have you already tried?
Standard instructions can be found on page 283 in the following:

happened to me too with a badly written disc. I recall the head unit was rebooting continuously without having time to eject, not sure if you have the same problem
What I did:
1- disconnect battery for 10-15min or more (negative terminal)
2- reconnect battery
3. Press Start without holding the break (accessories start, not engine start)
4. The Nav unit will start loading the firmware from the DVD
5. During this loading, start pressing various corners of the touchscreen (ex upper left, right, etc). I don't remember which combination worked but it did eject the disc eventually
6. Write the hybrid DVD again. It definitely works I have the hybrid 2011 maps on my 07 ES
Good luck hope it works for you

I tried the various suggestions on this forum, but none worked. Finally, I had no choice but to dismantle the center console and physically pull the disk out from the nav DVD drive and insert another genuine disk to get it to work. All the steps are documented with pictures in another thread. It is not that difficult, just be patient and follow the steps.
