Default a new 2010 es 350

Hi everybody, i'm new to this Forum.
I'm in the process of buying a new 2010 es 350 in the next 2-3 months.
the question I have: does anybody know what are the upcoming incentives or special events on Lexus? right now they are offering 1.9 financing for 60 months that will end on Sep 7th and I'm afraid i might miss out.
do you think they will have more incentives as good as this in the next 2-3 months?

At this point, why not just wait a few more months until the 2011 models hit the lot? Nothing worse then paying full price for a car that will be one model year old in a couple months. The other option is to wait for 'December to Remember' and get a leftover 2010 model.

Welcome - I would wait until the 2011's are out and the "December to Remember" finance specials are in place. They usually start some time in the second half of November. Even though you will see almost no change in the 2011's I wouldn't buy a 2010 unless the discount was $3,000 or more over a 2011 and they usually aren't that much. You will be able to buy the 2011 for almost the same price as a 2010 - sales just aren't going that well for Lexus or anyone else.

1- The low financing may not apply to '11s. It may be an incentive to move '10s.

2- You may bable to get a '10 at invoice (dealer still makes 2-3%) or better as they try to clear the lot of '10s. This may not be possible on a new '11.

3- How long do you keep a car? i kept my '02ES 8.5yrs when I traded it for a '10 because of a deal I couldn't refuse. The car was immaculate and if it wasn't for an offer i couldn't refuse I would still have it (retail for my '02, and the '10 for invoice less holdback). My mother is still driving my wife's '94ES in Florida. She just got rid of an '07 Tauras rather than the ES.

Good points. With minimal changes expected for the 2011's, you will get a better deal along with the lower interest rate on a 2010. The deals and financing rates on the 11's won't be as good for a while and the car will be virtually the same.

I was told to always negociate on the last week of the month since dealership has to report monthly sales and it is where they have the least margin of negociation before the sale report. Unfortunately, on my last car buy, it was done on the last weeks before december, thus the yearly report, so i got 2000.00can off of their best price. But i didn't try to deal with them on first week of a month.

I went through the situation end of '09'.....there will be very few '10' on the lot in Oct/ Nov as they clear Inventory and the 11's at least in 2010 version they didnt offer the low interest rate in beginning and were only wanting to disc in the 6-7.5 % disc range ( 3 dealers ) need to be in the 9--11 % disc range off msrp to get excellent deal. Hence I purchased IN March 2010 200.00 below inv ( somewhere 9.8 % disc ) and was able to obtain 1.9 interest rate @ 36 months. So do your homework ask questions so you are fully prepared but either way I beleive you will be very haPPY with ES350 purchase.

Welcome aboard. I think the above comments would echo mine. It's best to wait for the 2011's. I bought my 2009 at the end of December 2008 and there was in addition to the agressive discounts a $1000.00 coupon. With the economy still limping along, I don't think you will miss out on any discounts at all. If you just want a 2010, don't worry you will still be able to purchanse one in December. Yes, the pickings were slim, but my dealer found what I wanted in less than one day.

Whether you decide to go for a 2010 or the 2011, I recommend using James Bragg's car buying package:

www.fightingchance.com

No better way to buy or lease a car.

Another thing to keep in mind - do you want a particular option package (Ultra?) or color combination?

If you wait to grab up a leftover 2010, you might end up with one of the less desireable colors and it most likely will be the basic features (no Nav, rain sensing wipers, etc.) Heck - the picking might be slim now.

You might just have to wait for a 2011 if you don't like the 2010s that are out there currently.

I want to say a majority of the ES350s out there don't have the Premium Plus or UL packages. About 1 out of 10 had Nav when I looked at the used ES's a few months ago (locally).

Good luck on the purchase - hope you find the car you want at a deal that's good to you.

Oh yeah - don't bother posting up saying "did I get a good deal??" You'll just feel lousy after a few people tell of the better deal they got. If you're happy with the way the numbers work out - enjoy the car and don't look back!
