which leather areas are prone to wear
now that we all are proud owners of ES350s, lets ponder about the ergonomics of the car
when I was shopping for the car, I noticed HEAVY wear in many used cars at the following location
DRIVER SIDE. door facing seat edge. ( i will post a graphic later
the CD button changer in the steering wheel
the driver elbow center side rest
the great **** shifter.
Would any one suggest ways we can use the car so as to mitigate the wear and tear.. possibly by putting a cloth , etc. but I dont want overkill here..
any opinion. ?

I traded in my 2008 with 20K miles so I don't know what areas are prone to wear.I guess I could see the front left drivers seat but you can't do to much with that.Center console may be the same issue. All I did was keep them clean and conditioned.

as jags mentions there is no substitute for keeping proper care with leather cleaner / protectant. There are several ideas under Auto detailing in Club Lexus Forums section. Same goes with paint if you keep sealant/ protectant/ wax you will get great results over time.
