How come our 3.5's have only 274hp when the GS with the same engine is rated at 300hp?

The IS and GS 350's have direct injection engines. The 3.5 in the ES does not.

I think the actual HP #'s are 272 on the ES and 306 on the IS & GS.

I don't believe they are the same engines at all. Maybe someone can't point out the difference.

Funny, back in 2006, the Lexus service manager told me that the reason for my "noisy' engine was because it was direct fuel injected. He's no longer there.
