I had an infiniti G35 coupe, and I hardwired my escort 9500i using the invisicord method (purchased from invisicord).
G35 was totaled in September, so I bought a new 2010 ES 350.
I read the posts about what wires should go to what (invisicord green to mirror wire black, invisicord red to mirror wire white (with black tracer). However, this refuses to work.
I am wondering if the metal pins of the invisicord are not long enough to make contact to the wires within the mirror plug, or if I'm doing something else wrong.
I've tested the same invisicord and the same 9500i using the cigarette lighter (using this http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...ductId=3806057) and it works fine, so it's def. something up with the mirror plug.
Any thoughts? I REALLY do not want to run a wire through the car or tap/solder into a wire (map light, or otherwise).

I've never heard of Invisicord, but I've hardwired radar detectors before. I usually just unscrew any bolt (that threads into metal) and wrap the ground around it.
My Bel radar detector came with a coiled cord and a straight wire cord specifically for hard wiring. I just popped the upper console out (on a previous car) and used my voltmeter to find the switched power and spliced into there. I think I used the connection to the auto dimming mirror since many map lights usually have power when the car is off.
Been doing this for years the old school way and didn't know a product like you have even existed - pretty good idea for the person who is intimidated by wires!

Sorry I couldn't answer your question about the product you have, but hopefully this helps a little at least! Good luck....

Try flipping them. The black is the switched power and the white with tracer is ground. Looking at Inviscord's site they are indicating that green (with the black connector) goes to ground hence to the white with tracer.

Can you post a picture of the mirror plug? It should be very similar to that of the IS. I just used an Invisicord to hardwire my IS and put the red --> orange, and green --> blue and it worked fine.
Do a forum search for "radar hardwire". There is like a 20 page discussion on the IS forum.
