Default nav screen at night

Is there a way to leave the interior dash lights on max while having the nav screen on dark, night mode. When I turn the dial to the left of the steering wheel to max the dash lights are nice and bright, however, with the nav screen lighting to day mode, it is way to bright inside the car. This may be a double post, but for the life of me I can't remember.

I think you can only turn the dial to just before the max setting to accomplish what you want done. The dash lights probably aren't quite as bright as max but pretty close and the nav screen won't blind you.

Thats what I thought, I was thinking I was missing something. I like the dash lights on max light, but don't like the nav screen on day mode at night. If anyone else has a trick or something i'm missing I would like to hear about it.

The dealer set mine way back in 10/06 to have the night dimming on the nav screen.

I noticed that about my wife's car. the Nav screen was crazy bright at night. so I can adjust that with the dial to the left of the steering wheel?

Yes, just back the dash light switch off just one click and the nav screen will work in the reduced light setting.
