So I've only been driving for close to /cough 50 yrs cough/ and pride my self in being able to parallel park an elephant into the tightest of spots....
My 'new to me' Lexus is another type of animal though... can't see the front end, can't see the rear end, and the steering seems to be very sensitive at parking speeds. I still need several attempts to get into even the most spacious spots.
Even worse when I pull into a normal row parking spot, my front end is nicely placed but my rear end is over into the right, like I'm arcing into the row...

Your not alone, I don't like to admit it but this ES350 is without a doubt the most difficult car I have ever owned to park - and I've been driving as long as you have. Hope it's not related to our ages.
My slightly younger brother-in-law just recently admitted to me with some hedging that the reason he sold his ES was it was so difficult for both he and my sister to park.
And sadly I've had ES's now for over 4 years and it doesn't get any better.

I'm assuming that neither of you have parking assist? I know what you mean about not being able to see the front end as that is really a problem on these models. I have both parking assist and rear view camera and without that it would be pretty tough to get into tight places.
These options really need to be considered on this particular car.

Actually I do have both parking assist and the rear view camera. I did not have them in my 2007 and would not buy another car without them. They make it much easier to deal with.
Both took a while to get used to however.

Not to mention the tilting mirrors that give you a good view of the curb.

This is a pretty easy car to park with the rear camera and the tilt down mirrors I find it quick and easy to do. I've been driving since '61 and had more problems with some of my older Jags.
