Question Rear view mirror with compass

I have new 2011 es350 with navigation. I understand does not come with compass on rear view autodimming mirror.
I have it on my rx350 with nav and would like to get it on my 2011 es.
Can it be done?????????
I KNOW THERE IS COMPASS ON NAV SCREEN............MY SALESMAN SAYS THATS WHY THEY OMITTED COMPASS ON MIRROR.

It was still in the mirror last year (2010) and was obviously removed to save a few bucks. Too bad as it is much easier to check direction in the mirror, especially for older eyes!

If they have them, maybe you could purchase an '07-'10 OEM replacement mirror and have it installed in your car.

I agree with jimmy2x, the compass in the mirror is the way to go and I would miss it.

If you have a choice, the older version is a lot more polished (IMO) than the new version. See image for the difference. The dark LED segments disappear behind the reflection in the 2008 model.

Nick, a couple of questions. What % tint did you go with? 35% all around is legal here in IL and I have been wonderng how that would look.

Also, is your new ES quieter than your previous one? I had an '07 and now a '10 and my seat of the pants observation is the new one feels more solid and quiet.

Ohio says 35% and it looks good. It cost me $179.00.
The 2011 is absolutely outstanding. No squeaks, rattles, etc.
Most of all there is no cold start ticking noise..........at all..................
I love all the new gadgets like USB, Blue Tooth, Enform, and also the XM Weather, but only for 3 months............I will try to negotiate with XM when trial runs out......................

The reviews under the description lists installation as easy, one list the time of installation as an hour. To me, the means, not bad.
