Default Nav not accurate?

I just bought a used 2007 ES350 with Nav. The Nav seems to work well except it seems to take me about a half a block away from my final destination each time. When taking me home, it takes me to the end of the block and not to my house. This same problem has happened at multiple destinations. It recognizes the street address, but can't get me to the exact house/business (just gets me close).

The Nav disk has never been updated.

Is this common? Any idea how to fix it?

I'd say this is common. I made the mistake of paying for an update to my '07 nav disk last year and still have the same problem. If you ask me it's not worth updating the disks. What I usually do is double check the navi on my iphone...

Is your iPhone is more accurate than the Lexus nav?

Since I use google maps on the iphone yes and it has the added benefit that I can use street view to see what an unknown place looks like. The lexus navi always gets me close but usually takes a less desirable route or sometimes puts the dot for the destination a quarter to a half mile away from where it really is.

If it weren't for the back up camera I don't think I'd ever pay for the Lexus navigation system again. Then again, I plan to keep this car till it dies so I hope that's a long, long, long way off.

Good luck.

I daresay that most everyone's NAV is accurate, as mine is.

I wouldn't put up with a unit that was off by a half block. Since the software on our cars is the same the error must be in the hardware or firmware. I would take it in for an adjustment and not let Lexus tell you it's as good as it gets.

I must just be the most unlucky Lexus patron then because I've had four lexus, three with nav and they've all been, let's say, less then perfect. Not saying that's terrible, but it is what it is. I bought this last car before I had an Iphone, now that I have a reliable alternative I'll not pay >$2k for the option next time around.

If you check the CD that came with the car to explain the NAV, it says that the system will identify that you have arrived at your destination just a little before arrival so you can find address, parking, etc. Some of our local street addresses are off due to different size lots, so the address the NAV identifies is not correct. That is a city issue, not one of NAV accuracy.

I should say her 07 accord was more accurate.
