I have the same situation, the outer cover broke and I was able to get a used unit on ebay. I understand there are 4 screws behind the mirror that hold the 2 covers, so you donot have remove the whole mirror from the door (painful option). So it is kind of easy.
My problem is I need to know how the mirror is connected and how to remove/pull it ? is there a tape holding it ? ... 4 clips that needs pulling out ?

It turns out that, yes, you can just remove the mirror itself from the unit without messing with the door.
There are four claws at the top & bottom of the mirror that hold the glass to the backing. Tilt the mirror all the way up and use a moulding remover to disengage the two bottom clips. You'll be able to slide the glass up and away.
The installation is the reverse of this.
I don't know anything about replacing the cover at this point.

With help from Dreyfus's instructions I was able to remove the mirror and replace the broken back and frame which I got from Ebay. My mirror did not need replacing. In the picture I show the 4 screws that open the whole case including the floor light. To remove the mirror follow Dreyfus's intructions.
