Default Start/stop push button

Have trouble starting es350 on many mornings. Tried every "method" in owners manual foe emergency starting. Thought it was ECU, but OM's instructions seem to indicate start/stop button may have failed. Has 57000 miles and had wreck but is fixed.
Need to know how to program "new" starter button to ECU after installation.

Do we assume that you changed the batteries in the key fob.

Yes to both. I fully depress the brake and I have changed the battery in the fob. Immediately after changing the fob battery the car started for 2 days, then same problem again. I bought another fob battery but no help this time. I tried the immobilizer overide solution in the owners manual i.e. putting on the park brake, turning the ignition to auxillary position,, depressing the brake and holding the start button for 15 seconds. No start, just a small clicking sound, indicating the strt/ stop button is faulty.

I guess you have checked your car batteries too ... it may be worth calling http://lexus.sewellparts.com/ , they might give you some clues. Good luck.

Does the "clicking" sound come from the dash area where the start/stop button is or from under the hood? If it's under the hood I doubt the start/stop button is at fault. Do you now or have you ever had an after market alarm?

Start/stop button does not need programming.
