With all the problems in todays world this is not one that warrants too much time but I think it may be time for me to switch.
Too many recalls at Toyota plus better incenitives over at Infinity might just be a reason to switch too.
What would make me stay or switch??

The Infiniti is also a RWD (or AWD) vehicle - generally a little more sporty too.
I looked at the G before I got my ES, and while I think the car looks a little better, the ES just made more sense. Bigger back seat, bigger trunk, and better mileage - and a softer ride.
It really depends what you want. I like sporty cars, but just don't want one as my daily driver - plus with having kids and car seats, the bigger back seat is necessary.
I had an IS250 as a loaner once and really liked it - too bad the backseats are super tiny.
I'd almost say the G25/37 is closer to the IS250/350 since they both offer V6 engines in two different sizes and can be had as RWD or AWD.

I had an infinity G35 but before that an I35 tht had a continuos( dealer agreed )defectCorporate screwed me on a defective car. Dealer was nice, promised me corporate would play ball. A year later, corporate was not helpful. I sold the G35( replaced at a higher cost) which was a great car and said screw infinity. Will never buy another Nissan product. At least Toyta/Lexus address their issues.

Infiniti!!!!!
First off, the competition in the Nissan lineup for the ES350 would be the Maxima, not the Infiniti G series. The G would go head to head with the IS series. One of the reasons Infiniti added the G25, was compete with the IS250.
My car, before the ISF, was a G35 Coupe, and before that a Lexus SC300. IMHO, Infiniti does not compare to the Lexus experience in performance, handling, luxury or dealer experience.

my opinion. u shud compare ES350 with M35 .the 4 door luxury sedan.
i tried. but the engine noise was too much. in M..
LEXUS .. sound reduction is LEGENDARY.. hands down.... i did find the M35. dashboard more impressive..

I really like the M37, but isn't it something like at least $10K or more than the ES350? Which would put it in competition with other brands/models.

I agree with LexBob2, I test drove the new M37 and it is cool, nice interior, paddle shifters with rev matching tranny. What I did not like so much was the over the top exterior styling, buzzy engine, too firm suspension and road noise. The leather and overall quality was not as good as the ES350. IMHO if you want a more sporty car then the M37 wins, if you want a smoother/quieter ride and overal quality then the ES350 wins.

WHAT... buzzy engine and too much ROAD NOISE.. SAME problem I had with the M35.. dont the nissan engineers learn this... !!!.. this sucks..
i think. NISSAN tries to make jazzy. space age consoles /dashboards and throw wool in our eyes.. TOYOTA works hard on each aspect. ROAD HANDLING. safety. etc. .full experience

In the end, you have to put your butt in the seat and drive the car, and repeat until you find what you're looking for at the price you think is fair. As to whether you should walk away from Toyota, no manufacturer is perfect, so there's always the chance of getting a problem vehicle regardless of the make. Everyone's experience is unique, but I've had more luck with Toyota and Honda than others.
