Tire pressure monitor light on
Yesterday I added some pressure to all 4 tires from 30 psi to 33. This morning my TPML light comes on. Do I need to release some air back to 32? The dealer set it to 32 psi last time for me.
Or do I need to reset the TPML, how to reset it?
Es 350 2010
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the link, but...
Hi,
Thanks for the link, but my TPM light is on when tire pressure(33-34psi) is over 32psi set by the dealer. Does it mean that if the tire pressure is over the psi benchmark (32 psi), it also trigger the light on no matter it is over or below the setting benchmark. Or I have to inflate my spare to 33-34 psi as well to match the other 4 tires.
Any advices are welcome.
Thanks.

The light came on recently on my new to me '10. Thanks to the reset info contained on this site, I checked the spare (full size) which was aired to 40+ vs 30 normal. The other tires were still at 30 on the money since I set them 1.5 months ago. I figure the recent drop in temps triggered it. Odd that the spare being over so much did not trip it before now.

Yes they should all be at the same pressure. Also as the weather turns colder at night some of these sensors tend to trip the warning light. Not a big deal just check your air pressure and reset the light. Once you do that it should stay off.

My 07 CPO had same issue when i set to factory specified. When i bought felt like it was a bit stiff on road......36-37 psi in tires.......so i reduced to 32......light comes on. Dealer says i should keep at least 35. Set to go off within 5 psi of recommended.......SAY WHAT? Anyway, came on the other day but figured change of season. Took in to local shop for oil/filter/tire rotation ($44 vs. $130+ at Lexus......duh).......anyway, they set to factory...light back on. Before i left asked if they could put in 35 ...........light out. Ridiculous.

Please read your Owner's Manual on adjusting tire pressures and initializing the TPMS. This will ensure that your TPMS will work as advertised. The TPMS doesn't care what the "cold" inflation air pressure is of your tires as long as ALL the tires (including the alloy full size spare......not a compact spare) are the same. The system is looking for a difference in air pressure between the tires which could indicate a tire going flat while you are driving, which can kill you. You can adjust the cold air pressure of all the tires to the standard recommended 30 psi, for example.......or 34 psi if you wish, but you have to initialize/reset the TPMS, otherwise the system will not work correctly and/or the warning light may come on with a false indication. The normal increase in air pressure of the tires when the car is being driven which can increase the tire temperatures and the air pressures a lot does not trigger the system warning even when the alloy rim spare is obviously only affected by the trunk temperatures. Therefore the "rising" pressure increase tolerance must be quite high........I don't yet know what the "decreasing" pressure tolerance is. When you have a large seasonal change in ambient temps use a pressure gauge to check the cold tire pressures and adjust as necessary, and then do the reset procedure.......again, it's all in your Owner's Manual.

Tpms
All of the tires have to be the same. Doesnt matter if it is 20 or 40 PSI. The computer is looking for a difference. Not a set amount.
On my car. Its always the spare that throws the warning. I just take it to the gas station. Set all 5 tires to 32. Hit the reset button under the dash. Give it a minute. And the light goes out.
