Yes, Saw that as well. A bit bummed as I wanted the Ultra but was not sure how to get one and the delaer had the 2011 with a lot of what I wanted on the lot and Lexus was offering dealer cash at the end of August. But still......I want the Ultra!

My predicament a few weeks ago. Traded my '07 Ultra for a non Ultra 2011 leftover. Deal was great and only things missing: memory seat for passenger side (will not miss but nice to have), panorama sunroof (again, nice to have), graphite wheels (not going to miss as easily curb rashed and no matching touch up paint anywhere), ML sound sound system (the premium system is not bad, more than acceptable) and that's about it. Dealer was hot for the car and I did get somewhat of a premium for it over a standard version.

The 2012 UL lists for $45.7K. It's a very nice car with a lot of equipment, but that price is getting up there with some stiffer competition from other luxury brands.

I wonder what the pricing for the new gen (2013?) will be.

As I said in another thread we are way past the point of diminishing return on a car and we are buying a nameplate, an experience, an ego boost.

If I really wanted to most car for my $$ I would have bought a Genesis but the cache is just not there. Lexus certainly has it but they need to ensure they are the leaders in luxury features as well as cache & experience or they risk getting left behind at some point.

No flames please, just pointing out my take on it and I do own TWO Lexus'.

I loved the Genesis with the V8 engine but alas, my wife did not want the Hyundai nameplate. And actually, looking at the Maybach (not to buy), that car's front styling reminds me of a Sonata and / or the Genesis.
