07 ES 350 - coolant leak?
Hi all,
It leaks coolant somewhere on the passenger side of the front of the car. I jacked it up, and I can see the rear-facing rim of the oil pan (just above the drain plug) covered with red dried residue. I dont have access to a lift, so I cant tell exactly where it is coming from.
What is located in that area related to coolant connections?
Thanks!

Depending on your mileage, most likely it is the water pump......if it is, brace yourself.
It's quite a bit of labor to do it and a pretty costly job. The engine has to be moved to do it.
On a related note, if your 2007 falls into the VIN range of affected vehicles, there is also an issue with a gasket leaking oil right above the power steering pump. Keep in mind there is a TSB on this issue so this problem would be covered under warranty. It was about 12 hours labor per the TSB if I recall.
If that is the case, both jobs should be done at that time. You'd be on the hook for the water pump portion however.
When I had my oil leak fixed, dealer actually did the water pump too as they were already in there.
Good luck

afterall it was the water pump. It is located on the left hand side of the engine when facing it. To confirm the passenger front wheel had to be removed, as well as the plastic covers. Apparently the bearing inside got busted, as the pulley was loose and there was red crystallized residue all over the place.
I had a hunch that something weird was going on a few weeks ago when I noticed a knocking sound when the engine was still cold.
Spoke with the dealer, - water pump is covered under power train warranty 120km/6yrs. You guys were right about the estimate on the work hours - I was quoted for 16 and 18 respectively at two different dealerships plus $250 for the pump itself.
Thanks again,

Good grief.......... 16 hours X $125 hr = $2,000 labor for a waterpump? They did something to complicate it vs my old '94 ES300 which a waterpump and timing belt could be done for $500ish.

Coolant leak 07 ES350
I recently replaced my water pump, thermostat and radiator due to over heating and a leaking radiator. Drive the car 100 miles and it was great. Next day it's temp gage is going crazy hot cold hot cold. And there's coolant leaking from up under the car from behind the passenger tire. But somewhere below the water pump!?
