Thumbs down Anyone - Rattle in left wheel area. 07 ES

Well the laundry list of problems with my CPO 07 ES continues. Oil leak, timing cover leak, water pump leak, dash rattle, now, a rattle in left rear wheel/tire area. First noticed a few months ago, only occasionally coming into my driveway. I take it slow and just going over the normal curved curb area between street and driveway there's a sound like something loose or rattle, but only at that instant. Now it's happening more often while driving. I brought this to the dealership's attention when they took the eninge out fo the timing cover leak or whatever, but they couldn't duplicate (or didn't check, who knows). Anyway, will be taking it back in again this week.

Anyone experience anything similar in their ES?

I hope CPO covers this. I haven't had as many problems in just over 2 years with this Lexus than any other vehicle i've owned in past 45 years except my one and only Chrysler. 1990 Mini Van. But that's another story (actually nightmare).

It sounds like it might be time to move on to something else.

Trust me, within a year it will be long gone. I didn't even mention the intermittent failure of the 2 seat settings and of course blue tooth. I realize all car makers have a lemon from time to time, and many more often than that. But for us this was a major step, even as a CPO. We just got a Lexus POS. Luckily the extended warranty has covered much of our problems. The won't fix the dash rattle, can't find the seat setting problem. Will see this week how it goes with this rattle mess in rear tire area. If they fix under warranty i'll be happy, if not, this car me on the block sooner than we had planned. Alot sooner.

Look at the little "mud flaps" in front of the wheel wells. You will have to get close to the ground to see them under the car. My passenger side one comes half off on every bump. Let me catch a few dry days in a row and I'm gluing it on the car.

Default Possible source of problem

Haven't had time to take car in. But i'm in another Lexus forum site and someone posted this.

I developed a similar rattle in my 2010 ES350. At first I thought it was coming from the trunk but couldn't find anything. Finally rode in the backseat with the wife driving and decided it was coming from the passenger side rear wheel area. Took it to the dealer and they immediately knew what it was and took less than three minutes to fix it. It was some rubber tube, gasket, etc. in the wheel area that had come loose. I don't know the purpose of that rubber thing but the dealer fixed it in less than three minutes. Maybe your problem is that simple. Sounds like you need a better dealer.

So will take this info with me. Also, need to look around the wheel area to see if i can spot anything.

Raviola4: is your 2007 a dark blue Ultimate? Might be mine.

Check the wind deflector just ahead of the wheel, secured to the body. The plastic clip breaks and it rubs. There is an updated part available.
