2007 ES350: Replace Transmission fluid + Brakes
I went to Lexus dealership for my 96000km maintenance service. They did the regular Oil & Filter service and other checks listed in the maintenance schedule. To my surprise they did not recommend me replacing Automatic Transmission Fluid (I specifically asked them). According to Lexus ES350, 2007 maintenance schedule transmission fluid should be replaced at 96000km.
Please advise if it is strongly recommended to replace transmission fluid at 96000km and I should get it replaced? OR I should wait until the next maintenance due at 112000km?
The Lexus dealership asked me to get the brake fluid and front brakes/rotors replaced asap.
Would you guyz recommend me to get the brakes/rotors replace from a Lexus specialty shop such as T-Lex or Robinson in Toronto? Or any good garage can do this efficiently? Is it worth getting the brakes replaced from Lexus dealership?

The back pads on my 07 es350 were replaced by Lexus at 26,000 miles...The front pads were replaced at 65,000 miles by an independent shop...They used Wagner Thermo Quiet pads...The car now has 75,000 miles and these front pads are doing well...Wagner even had a rebate and they have a lifetime warranty..The time to replace brake pads is when they are 85% to 90% worn (2 mm)..Rotors are replaced when they develop deep groves that can affect braking ability...I did not replace the brake fluid and do not plan to change the transmission fluid...I hope this helps........Some people might disagree with me, but my past experience with dealers/mechanics is they want to generate as much income as possible...I have an 01 lx470 and at 60,000 miles was told I needed rear shocks and accuvator values total cost $1195 ($595 parts and $600 labor) I took it to my mechanic and he said it did not need this work...The car now has 135,000 miles and the AHC system is doing well...

I'm going to do the brake work on my 2007 tomorrow. Brake pads are easy to do, a clip and a pin and then just swap them out. I'm putting in new rotors as mine have a bit of a wobble but this is still easy to do it yourself. I'll change out all my brake fluid since it's all original. BTW, at 119,700 miles, my front pads are original. My rear pads have 100,000 miles on them as they were replaced by the dealer in a TSB. The dealer costs are astronomical, so take it to a good mechanic if you don't want to do it yourself.

I usually replace the rotors when the pads are replaced as the cutting charge ($40+) to true the old rotors ending up with thin rotors and then they heat up faster, making me wish I used the $40 towards new rotors and avoid the second installation charge.
