potential pb areas
The 07 has problems with the shifting of the transmission (sometimes reset of the computer fixes problem)...Some transmission were replaced FOC. Some did not experience this problem....Popping sound of side windows when closing...Broken/cracked retaining tabs ..If they break the window comes off track..Dealer cost $660 glass shop $220-$300 to replace window..... Back brake pads on recall should have been replaced FOC..Also, Oil line hose under recall... should have been replaced with heavy duty hose FOC.. Recall on brake pedal and all weather car mat... New brake pedal installed FOC and carpeting cut to eliminate possibility of brake pedal catching on carpet..Also, they put an override in the computer so that when the brake pedal is depressed and the gas pedal is engaged, the override with take the engine to idle mode...This has to do with Toyota run away vehicle problem......Hope this helps....

It's the accelerator pedal that was included in the recall...unnecessarily...as confirmed by the NTSB.
Retired pretty much covered the others.

Just learned that the best method to fix the oil line is to replaced it with an all steel line insead of hydraulic hose..Finally, the cost to replace a defective water pump by the dealer is $250 for the part and $1800 labor..The engine has to be removed to replace the water pump...If I was aware of this, I would have never bought this es350

I've now got over 121,000 miles on my '07 running on the replacement hose.

Good Question.........Yes, I have considered it, but this is my wifes car and she likes to drive it...When the right opportunity comes along....This es350 will only be used as a spare auto as I usually keep a car 20 to 30 years......My personal auto is a 01 lx470 and this 07 es350 is not half the car as the 01............In my opinion, the 07 es350 has had to many issues for a so called luxury car..........i.e. window tabs breaking, transmission shifting issues, oil line failure, floor mat -gas pedal, chipping paint etc...Also a hugh negative is the cost to replace the water pump...If I was aware of these problems, I would have NEVER bought the es350..........

I appreciate your input...I feel that the hydraulic hose MIGHT last the life of the car, but the steel line WILL ..It is to critical of a part to not replace with the steel line...Failure of the hose is likely to damage the engine beyond repair...The hydraulic hose just gets Lexus out of the warranty period..........
