Default Price dropped in less than 30 days

Guys,
I just bought a ES 350 and its been only 20 days. I just found out that the price is dropped like 1500 more. Is there a way I can get discount? Do you think the dealer usually go with that?

Thanks

I doubt it but you can try.
It seems you could have haggled a bit better.

It would even be beyond Lexus to give you the $1,500. I assume you paid what the car was selling for that day. The dealer quite likely did not even know of the unanounced price decrease. Is it a decrease in MSRP at the model closeout you heard about or some other advertised price?

Anyway I understand how you feel and it probably wouldn't hurt to inquire but I think I would just regret my bad timing and enjoy the new car.

I was just thinking if you happened to use a credit card for part of the purchase and they have a 30 day price guarantee like some card do you could try them. They would really be unhappy to hear from you on something like this.

Let us know if you have any luck with any of this.

We don't know if he bought a used '10 or a new '12.
I assumed a '10 and better haggling could have got him a bigger discount.
If a '12,there could be a bigger manufacturer to dealer incentive that started on 7/1..

lol sorry to tell you but the price of your car drops the moment you drive outta that dealership.

i would never buy a new car outta the dealership (buying a used car with 200-500 miles) would be ideal for me. then again, i'd be the second owner (which I don't mind)

most likely once the transaction is done, there is no use to haggle the dealership, no harm in trying though! GL

Lots of various discounts are starting to go into effect with the 13 on the way.

The dealership will not give you the 1500 if you have already taken delivery.

I you've owned the car for 20 days and the additional discount just went into effect, you are probably out of luck. It wouldn't hurt to ask, but it's unlikely you'll get anywhere. Maybe the dealership might offer you a couple of free oil changes or something.

Regardless of the situation - you'll always find a better deal than you got after you make the purchase.

The key is to simply STOP checking or looking at prices after you buy. If you were happy with the deal you got, just let it be.

If you weren't happy with the numbers, maybe you shouldn't have pulled the trigger.

mom is infamous for doing this. 10 years ago after getting her brand new camry she got upset because price was lower 2 days later

the price she got though brand new was already insanely cheap for a brand new car

Many times people are unhappy with a new car purchase because a lower price is available at a later time. However, If you got the car you wanted, right color and options, then enjoy the car. Did you buy the car you wanted or the car with the biggest discount. If you were satisfied with the deal when you bought it, forget all the other stuff.

If the market prize was up would you have written a chk to the dealer?

It is/was expected that the price will go down further.
When 2013 hits the showroom the 2012's will decrease further....
In OCT-NOV time frame 2011 were going for 6500 off MSRP in southern California. (carsdirect.com price) and I expect similar - if not more discount in late Aug/Sept. 2013 is entirely new (better?) platform
