You might want to keep checking periodically cost of NEW 2012 ES.
You might be surprised at the discount you can get once 2013 are in the show room.
I would start monitoring carsdirect.com and edmunds websites for the prices of 2012.
The cost differential may not be as high as you think.
With 0.9 financing it will not appear to be that much.
Here in LA land $7000.00 off MSRP is available now.
Hope this helps.

If I remember correctly, it was an option on non UL's in the 2007-2009 model years (I had it on a non UL 2007 with the Premium Plus package). In 2010 it became available on the UL only. I didn't change it much at all and usually forgot it was there.

Another difference between the '09 and '10 is the Mark Levinson surround system in the newer model can reproduce discrete 5.1 sound from DVD-As, while the '09 downmixes them to stereo. The '09 can reproduce 5.1 from Dolby Digital and DTS discs, however.

The 2007 was available with both driver and passenger side memory seats.
The 2010 went to drivers side only. They might still be available on the UL, but not sure.

Thanks for this thread! I am looking at trading my 2011 IS350 for an ES. I am looking for something in the 40-50k mile range, and there are a lot of 2009's in that range for $22-26k. I am finding a few 2010's in the 40k mile range between $28-31k. I think based on the changes I would like to look at 2010's.
The car I am currently considering is a Certified 2010 SCM with 56k miles for $27,990. They say that is their "Internet Special" price, is that a pretty good deal or do you think I can nudge them a bit lower?

Well I looked at some 2009's but they are not for me. No BT audio is a big deal killer for me, and both dealers insisted they had BT audio on the 2009 Premium Plus models, only to have me prove them wrong on the lot..
2010's are my focus now, but finding them with nav is both hard, and expensive. There are only 4 in Atlanta, and none of them are going below 30k. The dealers basically laugh at me when I offered 29k on a 2010 w/ nav @ ~ 29,000 miles. I will continue to search though, the right one is out there somewhere! BTW the 2010 w/ nav and 56k miles for $27,900 sold right out from under me, it was still sitting on the lot, but had already been purchased.. dang!

I was in similar situation at end of June when I decided to try getting a new 2012 ES. I got one with nav, heated/ventilated seat and rear shade for 36K + TTL in TX, 7k under MSRP. It should be even better now, specially if you talk to them on the last day of the month.
That's the way to go.Used car prices are nuts for just about all brands..If financing, that is probably higher than buying new too.
