Red Triangle ! ... What's it mean?
I'm considering buying a 2009 ES 350, and took it for a test drive yesterday. There is a RED Triangle with ! , that stayed lit the entire time. It's located toward top center of instrumentation cluster, just below the outside temperature display, Is this a specific warning symbol or general? I'm in process of searching for dash symbol meanings, but I though you owners would know for certain.
Would OBD 2 reader identify it?
Last piece of info: When I check trunk for the spare, all that's there is the wheel. No tire mounted on it. There's a rectangular sensor mounted on the OD of the tire valve stem.
I'm finding some info that says the dash symbol is for low air pressure (including spare). If true, then that explains the light.
Dealer offered to swap spare with one from another ES 350. But I wonder if that'll work since it will have a sensor from an car.

I think the red triangle means it is about over due for 5000 mile service. I don't think it has anything to do with tire sensors. I had the red triangle last week on my 09. I changed the oil and reset the maintainence minder and no more red triangle. The display had been pestering me to do the service for a couple of days.

Thanks LexusChuck. (By the way I'm a Chuck too). If it's just a service reminder, then that won't scare me away from buying.
Can anyone comment if I'll run into (pun intended) any problems if I swap spare wheel with another ES 350?
So, if there is a tire pressure indicator that senses all 5 tires, shouldn't that have been tripped too because there is no pressure in the spare?

Better to keep the "wheel" and have dealer install a NEW matching tire to the car's tires. Also be sure to have the car serviced at n/c by the dealer before accepting it. My demo 2011 Impala LTZ (2000 miles and 5 months old) was supposed to be serviced by the Chevrolet dealer prior to my accepting. On the day of the pick up, I checked and the oil was dirty. Seems they "forgot" to service it and rotate the tires. My wife and I waited until they did it before we drove away. That was part of the closing deal so I would not need to service it for 5,000 miles / 6 months just like a brand new car.
