It does trip the malmalfunction light. It did on my 2000 es300 because I changed out the blown 3rd brake light for an aftermarket led. Lights works great but dashboard light stays on after brakes are pressed foe the first time after statting car. Many have said the computer is seeing very low wattage or resistance draw. 1.5 watt led versus 25 watt 7440 bulb and throws the light on the dash thinking bulb is out.

i know this is an old thread, but wondering if anyone has had any RF interference issues with LED's. I changed all of my interior lights and puddle lights and since changing the door/ courtesy lights I've been having issues with my remote and proximity lock/ unlock working very sporadically. It may be coincidental but I think the timing matches up. Haven't had time to remove and test my theory...

Same here, replaced the signal relay (about $10) problem solved.
