I was thinking sound dampening material, and then I was thinking maybe a mouse nest made of sound dampening material?

I'm not too sure, and am kind of worried because I took it to a parking garage recently so I just want to make sure that nothing was done to my car

Where in your trunk did you find that? That typically looks like a mouse nest made of insulation material...

I'm almost positive it's sound dampening material that's fallen down from around your back speakers. I remember seeing material similar to that wedged around the speakers in my 2007 ES. If you'll look under the upper back-side of your trunk roof around your speakers, you'll probably find more of it.

It does look like a nest, though... lol

I've had a couple of my Lexus interiors torn apart and I noticed the same material, its nothing to worry about. SatComm302 is exactly right is sound dampening/Insulation material.

You should definitely be worried. I have stripped the interior in my 07 and the only sound deadening in the car that looks like that is under the floor and 1 big section from the start of the rear seats extending up to the end of the rear deck. In either case... the material is not/should not be loose like in your picture.

So I took my back seat out just to get a better look at the insulation under there and I agree with xanderES, It is possible to tare a piece off pretty easy but how it got in the trunk no clue???? If it is very loose and broken up chances are it was a mouse. I've had a mouse chew wiring under my hood before and it was a disaster. I would set some traps around the car where u park maybe even one in the trunk lol. Hope all goes well!
