Default New guy with a question, Hi BTW

Hi all.
This is my first post in this forum and I would like to introduce myself. I live in Miramar FL and just bough a certified pre owned 2012 ES 350 around a week and a half ago. This is my first Lexus car coming from a VW Passat 2009 model. I am super happy with the buy. The car only had 3000 miles on it and looks and even smells like new. The only thing that I like less is that it doesn't come with the Lexus navigation system. It has the standard radio 6 CD with satellite, bluetooth. System which is excellent but I would have had preferred it to include the Navigation system. I guess my question is if I can install the original Lexus Navigation in my car even when it did not included it originally.
Thanks for your responses in advance and nice to be part of this amazing community

Mario

welcome. ive only been here for a few years but have seen many threads discussing this issue. suggest u use the search function using various key words like es350 navigation aftermarket/ OEM etc. unlike many other forums, the search function here works well.

the answer as i see it is that its very expensive to retrofit with the OEM and there are several aftermarket systems which u can DIY. several threads have detailed instrs and pics. good luck

HI and welcome
wow Miramar cool
I live in Boca Raton but im down every day in your neck of the woods i go to school in Miramar

i don't know about retrofitting a OEM navigation unit in a Lexus that did not come with it
in the cadillac i know it was a pain in the but to get a wire harness made that would not fry the components when i wanted to add a factory navi to one of my old caddys
and it was 1000 for the navigation unit and more for a few other parts and 240 for a navi disc

i was looking on ebay when i was thinking about getting a ES350 that did not have the navigation and it was a year newer but when i looked at just the prices of the factory navigation it worked out to be cheaper to get the year older model that had it

just to give you a idea this is what i saw on ebay 16xx just for the factory oem navigation unit
then im going to guess a few hundred or even more just to have the factory harness wired up to being able to get it all to work properly
then another 100-200 for the GPS navigation DVD if i had to guess i was thinking it would probably cost me around 2000-2300 to do it so i ended up just going with the 07 that had it

Welcome! Yeah, it can be done but its very expensive. Search the forums like nevernu said, there are some other options.

Thanks guys.
I am new to cars forums but I write in other type of forums and use the search function. I just have to familiarize with the automobile terminology a little bit more. I will use the search button as suggested. Thanks again for your comments
