20s or 22s for my es?
Now that we have had 2 nicer days of weather the hunt for rims for my ES is on! I'm stuck on the size, I've always had 20" rims on all my cars but I'm seriously debating 22s for this car. If anyone has any suggestions on size and fitment it would be greatly appreciated.

22s are a big rim! Do you plan on lowering your ride? My buddy has 22s on his 2013 accord and hes already having problems with his brakes and some rubbing!! They do look amazing though!! Also consider that your fuel eco will go down.. Im getting my rims next year and i plan on sticking to 20s just to avoid any major issues with the car! But you already know that minor things still happen and these days pot holes seem to pop up outta no where!! I also plan on lowering as well!!
When i had my 94 honda accord back in the day i had 19s on and the car was slammed. Camber kits were installed but i was still blowing control arms!!! But it was a sacrifice i was willing to make cause it looked amazing.. Lol

If you destroyed 2 sets of 20s via potholes, what makes you think 22's will be any better?
You'll definitely need fender mods to be lowered on 22s, and you'll be running such a short tire you're guaranteed to bend/crack them over just about any bump. The car will ride like garbage and your brakes will take a beating from the extra rotating mass.
Find a nice set of FORGED 20s, they'll take the bumps better than cast wheels. Then make sure you get a tire with a good sidewall on it, and don't drive the car too low. The car being too low puts too much preload on the suspension and thus transfers that shock back to the rim/tire.
It's your car, so do what you want. But I think you'd be an idiot to put 22s on it.

I plan on running a fully adjustable Coilovers set up like I had on my ES300 so the rims sit pretty in the wheel wells, I've always run 20" rims but I feel the need to go bigger if possible without 2 much screwing around. So far I've owned 4 different sets of 20s and 2 sets were destroyed by pot holes. I find big rims make me pay more attention to the road conditions now lol.
On my old car i had a set made by KYB and they were the smoothest set of coils ive ever driven on!! No bouncing around at all cause the suspension jumping around is what causes the damage to your car.. Your driving skills will be tested with 22s on so be safe and watch out for those pot holes!!!

Definitely not a good idea. I think the ES could handle at best 20s style wise, and I am sure you sacrifice ride quality right off the bat.
I was hoping there would be some 19" version of the stock OEM 7 spoke wheels (Which I actually really like, even just matte grey, they are subtle but tight looking).
If it was an LS, then 22s are fine, if you got the cash, but anything bigger than a 19 on the ES looks hella ghetto to me... just my 2 cents worth (lets round up to a nickel, as pennies no longer exist :P).

If you got 4 front wheels, yeah you could probably make it work. The factory rear rim on an LFA is 20x11.5 = no way that's fitting on an ES without some serious work. I'd also double check the offsets as stock rims are about +50 and iirc the LFA is +38, meaning they'll be 12mm or roughly 1/2" further out toward the fender. Something to take into consideration if you're lowered and/or have spacers installed.

I love the factory chrome rims! I haven't bought any yet, but I've been looking into 19" replica LFA rims like the ones in the post above in a dark greyish gun metal colour to match my paint.

I think some nice blacked out rims or a grey would look killer with the red, they would look nice with your tinted tail lights. I think I am going to grab those gunmetal LFA rims my only worries is the rear rims are 19 x 9.5 and I'm not sure if there to wide, I want to slam my car and fit those wheels behind the fenders without to much camber.
