Default Steering wheel buttons

Good day.

I don't like volume control buttons on steering wheel on my 2009 ES. 2010+ models got restyling buttons, they are a lot better.

Did anyone tried to replace buttons from restyling model?

The only way to replace the buttons is to replace the entire steering wheel as a single unit.

I've no information on whether the newer model year would fit your '09 or not. I doubt it very much.

From 2007-2009, the buttons were of soft-touch. From 2010-2012, the buttons were changed to a hard-touch plastic buttons. I think the newer buttons give better feedback than the soft-touch ones and are a little easier to find blind-folded

I had both types on a 2007 and 2010 ES350 and preferred both the look and feel of the new ones. The old ones weren't a deal breaker, but it was a change I was glad to see made.

The problem with the old buttons is that the covering material degrades and tears. Mine look like hell.

If the clock spring and steering wheel controls wiring clips are the same it could be as easy as plug and play but u will need a newer style steering wheel, air bag, and controls and I doubt that will be cheap.

Good luck, please post some pictures if u attempt the swap.
