Ugh. Look at the instructions for taking off the cover for the ES350 and try to make sense out of it. I can' t tell if it is telling me to push, pull, or yank it off. And why would it take 8 clips to hold that little piece down?

Also, when I push the Menu->DVD-Eject button, it says that I do not have one installed, ie it is empty. So I assume the DVD updates the vehicle and then it is no longer needed?

Only 2007-2009 ES350 has the DVD navigation. 2010+ has the hard drive navigation.

You can remove the Lexus plastic cover by pulling, but because you have to be careful to not break any clips. I think Lexus put 8 clips to have a better fit and minimize rattles?
Once the Lexus plastic cover you can definitely eject the DVD and replace it with a new updated one. If the plastic cover wasn't removed, then the DVD would just get pulled back in.

It really is easy. Push up on the Lexus plate. Eject the DVD. Put the new one in.

The instructions makes it look like there are 8 clips you have to disable. When in fact when you push up the Lexus plate, all the clips are then disabled. Really stupid instructions and graphics.

Very easy to replace the DVD.
