You are very welcome.

Glad the info proved useful and the dealer took care of it for you.

I also just had all four of my window switches replaced due to issues developing with the chrome trim(2011 ES). No charge due to the TSB! Dealer said they had never heard of that issue, so it was nice being able to go in there armed with the proper info! Thanks NJ! :-)

Thanks!

Drove my wife's in today with the TSP number on a post-it note. Handed it to the service writer and pointed to the worn trim edge. Minutes later the 4 new covers are ordered and being installed on Thursday!

Got them replaced + the recall for a handle to get out of the trunk if you lock someone in it. That update calls for the dealer to "top off" your gas.

They replaced all 4 trims (even though the other 3 were flawless) for free under warranty . Thanks so much NJLEXES!
Question... With a TSB ...does it need to be under warranty?

Secondly, is it simply being replaced with the same defective-prone part or have they addressed a
REAL FIX??

Thanks a bunch!!

To my recollection, my cust service mgr at Lexus stated the 4 new chrome pieces they are replacing the originals with are "improved".
In other words, they will not fail in the same way the originals did.

That's why even though only 1 of mine were showing signs of failure, they replaced all 4 at one time to eliminate the problem entirely.

In regards to TSB time frame, I believe there is a limitation of some kind tied to the 4 yr 50k warranty.

That being said, I would imagine it is "possible" the dealer might have some latitude.
Not 100% sure on that though.

Had the same problem on my "new to me" 2010 ES350. Still had a few months remaining on the original manufacturers warranty and after finding this info, I armed myself with the TSB number/description and called the dealer.

They stepped up and fixed all 4 under warranty, no questions asked. The documentation on my invoice indicates "Enhancement available per TSB # L-SB-0048-11".

Just for fun, I checked the link to the Sewell site to see how much these cost ... absolutely shocked at the price!

RECALLS deal with Safety issues.

By the way, i did find the actual TSB number for the issue.
It is TSB# L-SB-0048-11

In any case, if you need to buy the chrome trim pieces, the part numbers for all 4 doors are as follows:

74236-33020
74235-33020
74276-33030
74275-33030

Good luck.
Thank you very much for providing this information.

I've got 2008 ES350, i want to change my intetior trim to 2010 ones, so i bought window switches with chrome peeling from 2010 and found out that it wont fit my 2008 door trim. Maybe you can shed more light on this too?
