Default Can't buff this one out.

So my wife scraped her bumper along a parking bollard. It's a 2010 350. We live in LA(San Gabriel valley) any body shop suggestions? What can I expect them to want to do/replace? What is the process for fixing something like this?

Thanks

The bumper cover is a pretty easy job. The problem is the paint on the metal part of the body. You would need a good painter to blend the paint or else they will want to paint the whole fender, Bumper should run between $500-$800 but the fender is going to hurt. Some guys pull the cover and some paint it in place. With the scratch on the fender they will want to pull it.

The fender looks like the scratched only on the clear and part of top coat. I would just clean it up and buff it. Bumper will need to be redone (fill and paint) and looks like it might have cracked at the retainer under the headlamp (based on fit there). Depending on the condition of the flange there, I would even consider replacing it. It will cost a few $$ and would need to be painted anyway...

After a run in with a large dog, we ended up with a re-manufactured bumper. It was an original part just off of another ES-350. Stripped of the factory paint, primed and sold to the body shop I used. I can't see anything different.

We had no metal damage but the entire lower, right side of the bumper was missing so there was no buffing it out.

Thanks. The fender is scratched and bent a little. The bumper is definitely wonky, and buldges out under the headlight. She is ok with not repainting the fender, and I am hopping we don't have to replace the bumper. Will take it to a couple of places on sat and get a quote or two. My main worry besides cost, is getting the paint to match.

I had almost identical damage to my 2010 ES from being backed into in a parking lot, assuming your fender is undented. They'll replace the bumper cover. I personally would let them buff out the fender and see how it turns out before I let them paint it, thats what I did and it turned out 90% perfect, the only area that didn't buff out 100% was right at the edge of the fender where it meets the bumper cover, once the cover was installed you couldn't tell. MUCH better than trying to blend into the fender...

The fender does have some damage. The first quote I got was 1,300 for repaired/refinished bumper, fix fender, repaint both. Second option is 2,000 new fender blend paint into hood and door. Will get a second quote later in the week.

I would rather use the existing fender, the paint will be easier to blend.

We ended up just getting the bumper and fender repaired and painted. Hopefully will be done by Friday. Final price was $900
