2008 es350 car battery replacement
I plan to replace the car battery in my 2008 es350 and I have a couple of questions.
I am concerned I may lose all my presets when I unhook the battery. Has anyone used a memory
keeper/saver? If so, should I use a 9V or 12V?
Also, does lexus es350 require you to register the battery to the car? in other words does the electronics (alternator etc) has to be synced up with the battery?
Thanks

I replaced the battery in my 07 last summer (batteries only last 2-3 years out here) and didn't loose the radio presets - -it was only a few minutes between unconncted/connected . . .it was just like any other battery I've replaced in the past 25 years - - no registering or "synching" was required . . .frankly, I'm not sure I know what that is ?

I just replaced mine.
I started by pressing the driver and passenger memory seat button 1, to position the seats.
I then "quickly" (<2 minutes) exchanged the old battery with the new one. I could have reattached the positive and negative cables in less than 1 minute, but I forgot to put in anti-corrosion felt pads on the posts. You can get the red/green felt pads at any car parts store.
Then I took my time to re-install the bracket and engine covers. I did add a washer under the bracket because my new 24F battery was very slightly shorter than the OEM Panasonic one.
Then I got into the car and started it. Then set the driver and passenger memory buttons.
All the windows and sunroof worked fine; but I rolled them down waited 3 seconds, and then rolled them up and waited 3 seconds. I'm not sure if this was required but it's a simple process to perform just in case.
All my radio presets were saved. All my personalized settings were saved.
I bought my battery at Costco - Kirkland brand. I've always had great service from them. BTW, the OEM battery was going on 7 years. It was still strong but I didn't want to push it this winter. When I put a multimeter across the posts when cranking, the voltage dropped to 9.34 volts and the recommendation is that any reading below 9.6 volts during cranking, means you should replace the battery.

If you do it in less than 15-20 minutes you won't loose any presets. I changed mine about a month ago and all settings remained. The only thing that needed a reset was the steering wheel position.
To get it back to your setting: get into driver's seat, close the door (important), push the start button but don't start the car (no foot on brake pedal), turn it off, then push the brake pedal and start the car. The steering wheel will then get to its last set position...
