I had it added to my 07ES. It has the old Apple 30 pin connector on it. With the $30 Apple 30 pin to lightning connector it works with my iPhone 5 and iPod nano, but does not charge either. It works and charges an Apple iPod classic, the one with the old click wheel. Apple still sells them. I bought one of those and just leave it in the car.
