Default doors not lacking/unlocking

I have a 2008 ES, recently I've not been able to lock and unlock my car using my hand. this usually occurs after I've gotten to work (30 mins from home) and when I'm returning back to the car after work (12 hours later). I've had the batteries changed in the key fob hoping this would solve the problem, but it hasn't. can someone tell me what's going on?

Can you pin it down to a certain area? (as in it only happens at work?) if so, there might be a cell tower close by. I used to do some consulting in a certain area and I couldn't even get the car to start without holding the fob by the start ring. Went into AutoZone and they said they get that ALL THE TIME - of course this was AFTER I bought and installed a replacement battery.

now that you mentioned it, it only has happened at work, but I've been parking in the same place for years, unless a new cell tower has went up in the last few weeks

Is your key fob in the same pocket or near your cell phone (esp. Apple iphones). There has been other threads that mention that if the key is near your phone, then the radiation emitted from the phone interferes with the key's transmission quality.

I have definitely experienced this issue (as weird as it may sound). If I put the phone and keys in separate pockets, I don't experience the issue.

I keep my phone and key in seperate Ickes, I heard about the interference. today I went in for a few hours, but parked in a different place and had no issues, so it might be a new cell tower near by. Monday I will park in a different spit and see how that goes
