Strut Too Close To The Tire?
I just changed to winter tires on my '09 ES350 and noticed that the strut is only about an 1.5" directly above the inside edge of the tire. Please see the photo and tell me if this is normal. FYI, winter tire is 17" and all specs are identical to the orginal. Thank you.

Did you change tire sizes?
Regardless it shouldn't really matter.
What compresses is the spring and strut above that perch. Meaning that the clearance between the strut perch and tire will remain static. Unless something gets lodged into that space in between you shouldn't have a problem.
