Drain and Replace Anti-Freeze
Quick question. I read that the Anti-Freeze only needs to be changed every ten (10) years?
That can NOT be true. Please opine. Don't have Operating Manual. Thanks

The original coolant is SLLC (pink) and it's good for 10 years or 100 000 miles.
After that if you use pink you should replace it every 50 000 miles.
I just bought water pump, thermostat, gaskets and 9 lit of Toyota LLC, red.
I will replace everything this weekend.

.......
Ten (10) years... That's absolutely unbelievable. I have a Garage Queen... And have been driving
more than 50 years and with several different models over the years. I vividly remember my
Radiator springing leaks and needing repair or replacement.
Can any one speak to that specific issue and the10 year life
of the Antifreeze. I'm totally perplexed!

In 2004 Toyota and Lexus came out with their pink super-long-life coolant. This is what we use for these vehicles. Their recommendation on this coolant is that it be replaced the first time at ten years or 100k miles. Their recommendation thereafter is that it be replaced every 5 years or 50k miles.
This is it.
