Default --Trying to find a good es350--

Looking at 07-08s and comparing market prices and it seems like people are selling well above kbb for example. Or, its priced at a decent price but has high mikes. Trying to find a 1 owner or 2 at the most with 100k or less in miles. For a 07 I think 8,500 is a good price, what do you guys think?

07 with less than 100k miles for 8500? Good luck with that . . .you're about $3-4 grand low depending on condition and miles-- at least in this market.

I just checked the Baltimore and DC area and vehicles were 3-4k more than what you're looking for. You may be able to find one for what you're looking for, but it may take a while. FWIW, these things are pretty reliable and the extra miles probably won't have any significant impact on that.

i've checked kbb, autocheck and for a 2007 non navi es350 with normal mileage goes for 8600 private sale. I don't care it's a lexus but most of these seller's at least around here are trying to get more than what the car's worth. I'm sure if there went to trade it in they'd get much much less. The good one's priced right which were a few sold quick. True i can get one with higher miles but then i'll have to be much cheaper based off the miles and condition.

If a car is well maintained and all maintenance is up to date (would ask for all records), I'm ready to pay $1000-$1500 over the book value. I would not pay too much attention into kbb as it does not consider all details.

If I were you,I would look for "the special car" that accommodates your needs, then the price tag. Buying cheap can cost more $$ for repairs (cheap ends up in trash heap-not always true though).

Consider dealerships too. If you are paying cash, you can get a really good deal-forget bombastic dealer pricing; They mark up big time to leave some room for negotiation.

You're in the right ballpark with what you're looking to spend, but if you want one with nav and one of the more desirable color combos, then the price goes up from there.

In the Chicagoland area, I see an 08 White/biege with nav with 84K for $11,995. Also an 07 black/black no nav with 78K for $12,998.

I think a little patience is needed as I see prices are flat or high. I was told by a salesman that April and May are slow times (along with October) so there may be some deals around the corner. Good luck!

If you are not in a hurry, I would wait. My criteria was single owner and low mileage (>100K), I was lucky in finding a 2007 base model from a Subaru dealer for $ 13.5K (+ tax etc); it was used by an retired couple and they bought a Subaru and turned this in. It was a great dealership and I found it at a great price which included 3 days 200 miles no questions asked return and a 90 day warranty on engine and transmission.

I tried Craigslist but did not find anything meaningful. Cars.com is a good resource I'd recommend; they aggregate listings of all available cars in your area (mostly dealers) and have free Carfax report which will tell you right away about owners, auctioned cars etc.

Good luck and let us know what you fiind!

I'm trying to find mainly a 1 owner es as well but your right Craigslist has been crap for me..I did however find a 2006 rx400h and got the guy down to 10k but the next day when I went to buy the CSR he got a higher offer and went with it. I'm between the RX, es and 06 GS...seems like everyone's selling high.. I'm going to wait and find the right color and options if I have to spend a little more than so be it.

Agree with your approach; check out cars.com. IMHO over $ 10K, I'd negotiate with a dealer and pay a bit of a premium unless I get lucky on Craigslist. I think luxury cars owners either turn-in their leased cars to dealers or they trade-in so finding a good deal on CL is a matter of luck.

Good luck!
