Default TPMS Started Blinking - Question

'07 ES with 75K miles. Totally out of the blue. Its been working fine because I have one tire that has a very, very slow leak we cant find. I followed directions for re-initializing the system with no luck; although only left car on for about 3-4 minutes. Do I have a bad sensor, and if so, is there a way to determine which one?

Also, where is the ID code button?

TPMS button is under the steering wheel. The 2nd TPMS button is over the passenger legs.
I think you need to inflate the tires at proper psi and to reset the system.

Make sure you check the spare in the trunk.

i have a 2007, took it to costco for tire change and mentioned that the tpms light was on, they told me that the sensor battery is most probably finished (7-10year life) and the sensor needs to be changed, they have the tools to detect which one is the defective one and it costs about 70$ (1xsensor + labor). Most probably its the one with the slow leak because it constantly tells the system that it has low pressure and causes a slow battery drain.

Oh wonderful...more batteries to change! Car is coming up on 10 years so that is most likely it. Will that cause it to flash for one minute at start up?

If you pumped all the tires (including the spare) and its still flashing then thats the problem. The problem with your slow leak might be due to corrosion on the rim, they sand it off and use a product to seal it, thats how costco fixed my slow leak, they did it for free because I bought the tires from them.

It's not low air because it starts our blinking for one minute at start up, which has never happened before. Has to be somebody else who has had this issue?

yea, thats what mine did, it flashes for a while and then stops, its the sensor. Any reputable tire shop would be able to tell you which wheel it is.
