You loose R because the tranny goes into limp mode.
The TCU is located on tranny itself, Venza like.
By disconnecting the battery you can reset the learnings only.
Gimme your email so I can send you a massive pdv file where you can find everything.
Also, check this:

I went to check on this. Mine did recognise but you have to hold the lever on +/-, not just push and release.
That stinks like TC solenoid.

Yoo man i have a 2010 Lexus rx350 with the po990 code on for the pressure switch number three circuit high, with the service awd and traction control light on , how can I fix this ? And did you find out how to send tech stream or where I can buy or install it from ?
I'm so glad that you finished this job with success.
Do you notice any difference in shifting?
I think you can download the Techstream software from the internet.
You need to install Techstream v10.10.18 or v10.30.029 plus mini-vci-driver 8.30.023.
I have them both but I'm not sure how I can send them to you because they are pretty big (150 MB + 8 MB).

I would take it to the guys that did the tranny. If you want to replace the solenoid yourself than buy the strainer/WS and the solenoid. It’s not easy to do any of those on that car because you need to drop the pan and the frame wont let you remove the bolts without lifting the transmission.
