Cornering & 70-75 MPH
Hi All, just wanted to confirm that nothing is wrong with my car . I notice when i slow down to corner for example at a light it seem as if the car almost come a dead stop I literally have to floor the gas pedal to get back up to 35mph. Also i notice at around 70-75 again to get an extra 5-10 MPH gas pedal must be floured. It it only me that experiencing this or is it time for me to get a faster car to satisfy my need for speed? by the way never had this experience even with car of lower HP.

seems to me that the veh is in the highest gear at cruise/70mph and to get it to accelerate quickly you need to floor it to drop a gear. Or drop it into sport mode at a lower gear. Ive never had a lack of response when requested. Not as good as my 67 Cougar though, all you had to say there was "warp speed now" please and it flew...

Ok thanks for his response. I notice when i switch to sports mode going at 70-75 is goes into 4th gear automatically is that a safe gear to be in at such speeds can this cause harm to the transmission?

Manual mode is for downshifting and passing on a highway. Default is 4th gear. Lets say you are doing 55 and want to quickly pass someone - down shift to 4th pass and back in drive.
Its probably not the best (for tranny) thing to do ritually while driving at 70+.
ES350 has 270HP by no means its slow or has lack of response. if you feel like you have to literally floor it to respond then yes there might be something wrong with it.
If i come to a stop and floor it my tires will spin/rubber burn and i definitely get a decent acceleration with 250+ lb-ft of torque.
