So the bad idle went away right after you replaced the coils?

I have a 2007 ES350, which has performed perfectly for 12 years. . . until today. It started vibrating and the "Check engine" light and "Check VSC" messages came on. I shut it down, and 3 hours later I took it to a friend with a diagnostic tool, but it ran perfectly--no warning lights. I left his garage, and "Check engine" and Check VSC" lights came back on, and it started running rough. I returned to his garage, he put the scope back on it, and it said "bad spark coil F." Perhaps that's the issue, no?

Anyone know which cylinder is "F"?

I would say cyl number 6. That one goes first.
