Default Improving seat neck comfort

we are proud owners of a new to us base 2008 ES 350
hubby has severe neck issues and although more comfortable than previous car, the driver's seat neck support is insufficient/or we are doing something wrong
we tried lumbar and all other seat adjustments
please help us adjust the seat/headrest or purchase an aid
cheap ebay neck cushions don't work

THANK YOU

I guess I need a little clarity. The head rest is a safety feature and not a comfort feature. It is not meant to be able to rest your head against it while you are driving it is for whiplash protection. It only has an up and down adjustment so that you can align it with the center of the back of your head. Some cars have a tilt capability but only aimed at getting the gap between your head and the headrest closer. I don't believe Lexus has anything that will do what I think you are looking for.

Good point. Volvo used to insist on calling them head restraints vs. headrests.

i get that
so if the headrest is not meant for support, what (aftermarket ok) can be used for neck support while driving?

Maybe one of those U shape neck pillows that you use while traveling by airplane. Other then that I haven't seen any other options. You may want to find a upholster to see if they can modify your headrest .

no luck at the Lexus dealer

an airplane type pillow prevents from head motion side to side properly and obstructs view and motion so it is dangerous

off note got an NX200t as a loaner and this car sucks in all aspects compared to ES350

As a point of interest what was used as a support in your last vehicle.

You could always look into VIP Companies such as Junction Produce or Bellezza

The first thing I did after buying the car was buy two of these pillows in a cool silver material that I found at Fry's. Otherwise, the seats just ain't comfy.
