I bought the car with these rims already on it and at first I thought that they were the ones that originally came with it lol. Then I looked at the spare and saw that they were different and that they must have come off a different Lexus. After searching googlG images I think that they are off a is250 .I like the way they look but I have noticed that the front tires are smaller than the back. I took it to my friend's tire shop and he told me that the front are smaller because the rims are offset .My question is could I put bigger tires on the front rims? I don't like the way the front wheel well has a bigger gap and I don't really want to lower the car so what do you guys think
Get larger tires for the front. If remember correctly, IS tires on that front wheel on the front are 225/40/18, but to be the equivalent of the tire that came off it, 215/55/17, the new tire size should be 225/45/18
The front tires are 225s . the back tires are 255s .I'm wondering if 255s would rub in the front and that's why the previous owner went with 225s. I'm going to take it to a couple other tire shops and see what they say . I'll keep you posted .Thanks for the input
So those are the factory sizes on the IS (225/40/18 on the front and 255/40/18 on the back I believe). The owner probably just bought the wheels and tires used and kept whatever was on there.
I can't remember for sure, but when I tried my g-spyders on my ES, the rears wheels just barely cleared on the front, but I can't remember if this was on our 2012 ES or my 2004 ES. Sorry.
