Default Disable Seat Belt Alarm on 2011 ES350

I have found a few instructions on this but not for the 2011. Anyone know how to do this?

Does anyone know how to do this on a 2008 ES350? I don't see any option to do this via techstream.

Initially I had the stealership disable the chime noise but since have used the Carista app for this. I bought an extra male seatbelt end to get rid of the flashing light.

Why would you want to do this?

I have to unhook my seat belt to reach the gate sensor on a 6 story parking garage. My spot is on a higher floor and I would prefer not to re hook it.

Could you please tell me what menu it's under? I have Techstream and I've checked under all the available options. I don't see anything regarding the seat belt alarm.

There's an IS thread about this and someone says this procedure worked on a 2010 ES. I'm not sure it'll work on your 2011 or if you're already aware of this. You might try it to see if it works.

1. turn the key to the ON position which means pressing the start button twice on the new IS since it doesn't has the key, foot off the brake
2. Press the trip reset button couple of times until the ODO is displayed (not trip A or B)
3. turn the ignition to the LOCK (OFF) position
4. unbuckle the driver's seatbelt if it was buckled.
5. turn the key to the ON position again press the start button twice. when the dash lights comes on, press and hold the trip reset button and count a slow 12 seconds. (editor's note, hold it more like 30 sec)
6. while still holding the trip reset button, buckle the driver's side seatbelt.
7.and the odometer display should read "b ON" or "b OFF". toggle the beep OFF with the trip reset.
8. the process should be completed when you unbuckle or turn the key off.

From what I've read, this doesn't totally get rid of the seat belt chime... only the obnoxious quick chiming you get if you don't buckle the seat belt.

Well, I tried the procedure on my 2010 ES about 10 times and couldn't get it to work. Going after it with techstream later.

I was able to turn off the warning using Techstream. Once in Customize settings, look under "Warning" and you should see the option to change the seat belt warning. You can turn the Driver side on/off, the Passenger side on/off, or both driver and passenger on/off.

I haven't taken a drive yet as it's too late, so haven't tested it out. I can tell you that when I turned the car off, and then on again, I still got the initial seat belt warning chimes. And, as I've read, this only disables the obnoxious quick chimes you get when you get up to a certain speed. After I test tomorrow, I'll post an update. Then again, if you happen to get it working, I guess you'll find out for yourself.

Drove the car today. Normal seat belt warning chime present when you start the car, but no quick chimes when driving. Thank goodness!
