i've seen a few threads but the only solutions proposed were complete steering wheel and shift **** replacement
my shift **** and only the top part (outer top) of the steering wheel are now pale yellow and the rest of the wood is dark rich red
looks like those parts came from a wrong salvage donor
is this discoloration normal sun fade or is this a production defect?
i've seen same age cars with wood wheel not discolored at all (probably shpuld have used a cover but doesn't that defeat the purpose of wood wheel)
i asked the dealer and was told that they would gladly replace the **** at no labor charge for the cost of parts = $538

My 07 es350 has the same discoloration in the same areas. It never really bothered me but after reading your post I can't stop looking at it lol. Let me know if you find a solution that doesn't cost over 500 dollars.
