Hello all,
Both head light bulbs seem to have gone bad on my 2007 ES350 within a couple of weeks of each other.
I need to replace them, but I am not sure which bulb to purchase. The manual says I have either the Discharge Bulbs (D4S) or Halogen Bulbs (H7). How do I tell which one was installed? I removed the bulbs in the hope that the model would be printed on it, but no luck.
Also, Ebay/Amazon is selling LED bulb conversion kits, for example- H7 IRONWALLS LED Headlight Conversion Kit 1500W 225000LM Lamp Light Bulbs 6000K
Would one of these work? I would like to switch to one of the bright white lights, if I can.
Thank you for your time.

Ok, that was a good idea to figure it out.
Yeah, it looks like the H7 bulb. Except the filament inside is broken in mine... which would make sense.
Would a conversion kit such as one work too? Although, the Phillips bulb you linked to is also bright white color like Xenon.
Thanks again for the time.

I know people have upgraded to HIDs with some success. I haven't gone this route because the bulbs are more expensive and the actual amount of extra useful light produced is somewhat subjective. On a 12 year old car you may be better off sticking to halogens are making sure the headlight lenses are clean and smooth. Just my two cents though.

So, looked at various Phillips Halogen H7 bulbs on Amazon and they are rated around 450 hours of life.... Am I reading that right? 450 hours will be probably last a year. The original bulb lasted 12 years...
What am I missing here?
Thanks.

Where did you see they only last 450 hours? I looked at the Amazon site and couldn't find that figure.
Halogen bulbs get really hot. So hot that any oils left on them from, say your fingers, will burn. This will severely limits the life span of the bulb. I always pour a little rubbing alcohol on the bulb and shake it dry before installing to get rid of any oils. If you have a set of those thin latex like automotive gloves but those on too before handling the bulb.
