Hello All
I am hoping someone here among numerous brilliant lexus enthusiasts had this problem and found a fix.
The issue is the armrest storage console is lose. the lid and the whole stack moves right to left and creaks when any pressure is applied.
I asked the dealer to check it out during the last visit and was told that this is because the car is 11 years old and there is nothing they can do besides replacing the whole center stack.
At times I think that service advisers take upon themselves to give a solution not wanting to bother the tech with a question for some reason. This has happened to me on numerous occasions with different sa and most times they were wrong in the end.
i digress.
has anyone experienced this issue and figured out a a way to fix this?
thanks

Nevernu is right, i did mine a long time ago, remove the center stack and padded the lid with sheets of foam, now is comfy and snug to the touch. Inside the lid, it is hollow with hard plastic frame.

This is great thanks guys! I can now finally replace the pointless orange led with a white one. Only one left anyone have an idea how to replace the glovebox led? I’m thinking I probably have to pry up the dash like they did to replace the airbag in order to get to that one.

I just replaced the dumb orange bulb took me all of 5 minutes, I can’t wait for it to get dark to see how much better it’s going to be with a white bulb. When you remove the lid just note I thought when you squeezed the plastic track the track popped out it’s just the lid that pops out very easily.
81080-22040 is the part number for the cool white bulb for anyone that is interested. This is the part that Lexus used for the 2010+ ES and many other Toyota/Lexus cars. I’ve replaced the two footwell Leds, now the center console, and I need to still do the glove box. They all have the dumb 80s looking orange Leds that don’t light anything up.
