Default wheel alignment question

When I bought my 08 ES350 in Florida, I had a shop do a complete alignment, it was pulling to the right.
After it was done, I took it back because i was still pulling the the right slightly and the steering wheel was not centered when going straight. They redid the job but the steering wheel was still crooked. I did not have the to take it back and drove back home.
Here, my trusted shop tried realigning it but they said it was near perfect but they found a problem. The steering position sensor was not at more and they were not able to reset it. There was something about a electric power assist that he was not really abe to explain what it was. He didn't change me for the job but I'm still puzzled.
Can anyone enlighten me on what this steering position sensor does and what I need to to the reset center and have the wheel straight?

Thanks a bunch

Go get it fixed by a dealer. Cost maybe $200-$300 . Here it is https://mechanicbase.com/electric/st...nsor-symptoms/
