2008 Ultra Luxury...119k miles...too many?
Hi, I've been looking / following classifieds for ES's for a few months and the Ultra Luxury model is few and far between.
The car is a 1-owner, full dealer service history but it's from a small reseller (think he has 5 cars at the moment, this 08 ES and two 6th gen).
How reliable are the panoramic roofs and Mark Levinson audio systems?
Would you personally go for a lower mileage 07-09 (65-90k) model for $8.5-10k private party.
This 08 119k mile Ultra Luxury 1-owner for $9'ish. He has it listed higher but he's been sitting on it for a while. Through text said he would take $9.5...but I think he might go lower. Should 119k miles be worrisome?
Or spend $13k-14 for a lower mile (50-65k) 2010+ from a private seller?
Those are the pricing trends I've came across in my area. These are for what looks like very, very clean examples. This would be my daily driver, not a long commute, I drive less than 8k a year total. I would be keeping the car while saving for a home.

Panoramic roofs are not that reliable, most of the gaskets are worn out.
ML head units go bad too, and they are expensive.
If those cars are well kept, 110000 miles are nothing.
I would go with 2010+ model.

Drive train should be good into the the mid 200K easy if it was properly maintained. What gets scary is all of the accessories starting to go and the more you have the more potential for disaster. If you can swing it without stretching yourself to much go for the 2010 which has all up the updates that fixes most of the annoyance with the car or even better if you could swing the 13.
