Does anyone know how to reset the security system on a 2009 Lexus ES350? My doors won’t lock or unlock. Feel like it might be the security system is messed up.

 

There’s no option for that.

You should check a couple of things first:

key battery
central locking fuse

 

I have changed the fob battery a couple of time. I got the manual and found the fuse for the power door lock mechanism. It didn’t seem blown but I replaced anyway. No change.

 

I’m wondering if it’s the body control module.

 

Can you lock the door using the key . The key is a mechanical activated method so if it locks/unlocks the door then you need to have the system checked by the dealer on their diagnostic system. Also when you are sitting inside can you lock the door with the button on the door arm. Then if you start the car and shift it into drive do the doors lock.

 

Each door went out one at a time within a matter of 3-5 months. The fob cannot lock or unlock the door, but the fob can pop the trunk and if you hold down the unlock button it will open the sunroof and roll down all the windows. The lock switch will not lock or unlock thank of the doors inside the car, none of the lock/unlock switches. Nor will the button on any door lock or unlock the car. If all the doors are manually locked and you hit the door button, the car will beep as if the security is on. Come back to unlock and nothing. It use to beep like 8-10 times if you tried to grab the handle to unlock but not su much now. When I shift the car to drive or park, nothing locks or unlocks.

interestingly enough, on a few occasions, the passenger door will lock and unlock as it should under every lock/unlock way. And then it’ll just stop again.

 

OK sounds like a potential problem with the circuit. Whether it is a separate module I don't know and my bet would be it will come up on the dealer diagnostic system.
