Default Substitute Tire for Michelin Primacy MXV4

Can anybody suggest a cheaper alternative to the MXV4? My es 350 needs a tire replacement for all four wheels. At 180,000 miles this will probably be the last tires for this great car. I have always used these Michelin tires which are great but only get 20,000 miles down here in Florida. Looking for longer tread life.

I got a set of Cooper CS5 Ultra Tourings this spring. They ride great. Much better than the MXV4s I had on before. Not sure about tread life as I only have about 6 months on them.

PIRELLI CINTURATO P7 All Season Plus is also a great choice. They last long too!

I just put a second set of the Michelin Premier tires (first lasted about 65,000 miles) on my wife's 2010 Lexus ES350. Highly recommended, especially for areas with lots of wet roads. They are slightly noisier than the Primacy's. Let me know if you have any questions.

I just picked up an ES350 and had to replace two aged out tires (looks like previous owner did the same about 2 years ago) and got these - a different Michelin tire:

At tire rack, they are listed for about $70/tire less than the Primacy MXV4

I went from Primacy to Premier. Very happy with them!

The Michelin Defenders don't have high enough speed rating, only H, or 130 mph.
Since I know we all regularly travel distances at over 145 mph, they're not for the 350.
In addition, since the es350 calls for V rated tires, many shops won't install terrible, low speed, H-rated tires like the Defenders on an es350.. </sarcasm off>

I like the Sumitomo P02 tires, have put them on 3 cars, no problems. They're not good in the snow, but I've heard you don't get much in FL.

I don't think many people even travel over 100 mph, especially considering the vehicle's age.

You missed the </sarcasm off> switch.
In 55+ years of driving, I think I once took a BMW I owned to 110mph - for all of a mile or two.
Realistically, H rated tires like the Defenders are fine, but, Lexus specified V rated tires, so, some tire dealers won't sell/install H rated tires for our cars. Shrug.

I switched to these recently. They are very quiet compared to the OEM tires.

We've had Michelins and Bridgestones on our ES models . . .but most bang for the buck in a quality tire is the Cooper- hands down.
