Default 2010 Fuse 28 Keeps Blowing

In the last week, Fuse 28 - Dome has blown twice.

When it initially went, I thought that was odd, but just replaced it. It just blew again this morning. All was fine when I started the car, parked at store, opened the trunk with the button above the license plate, and the fuse was blown.

Any ideas where to look for the cause?

Thanks!

I will check all the lights inside but first disable them with the overhead switch and then see what's going on.

Replace the light bulbs. One of them is bad and the likely cause of the fuse issues. Also check for socket corrosion.

This is interesting, when I open the trunk, the fuse blows.

Check the light bulb socket in the trunk and the wiring that goes along the trunk hinge. Sounds like you may have a short somewhere.

Well, it was the wiring to the trunk light. I could not pull much of the wiring out, but what I could, revealed at least 75% of the insulation was gone from both wires, causing the short. For now, I've just removed the light fixture and separated the wires leading to the connector. I am guessing the only way to get to the wiring is via the interior. I am not sure the trunk light is worth the effort.
